[Etude House] Dear My Deep Color Nails - DPK001 Pick Pink (Review & Swatch)

In this post I'm only going to show you swatch, color description, and the quality (opaqueness) of the product, for the basics of the product (price, quantity, cruelty-free or not, etc) go HERE.

------------------------------------------------------------------

Now, the star of today's post is DPK001 Pick Pink

Pick Pink is a bright salmon pink. And when I say bright, I really mean it. Not so bright to the point of neon bright, but bright.

It's a perfect pink nails for summer imo.

one coat

It has a creme finish and as you can see from the above pictures, the formula is really opaque

You can pretty much get away with one coat, but adding a second coat never hurt ;) It glides on smoothly onto your nails too.

two coats
See how gorgeous the color is? It dries quickly too.

Overall, I think it's a great quality and worth the price :)

And like before, I can't say anything about the "long-wear"ness because it depends on your everyday activity.

Okay, bye xoxo

[Etude House] Dear My Deep Color Nails - DPK002 Wink Pink (Review & Swatch)

In this post I'm only going to show you swatch, color description, and the quality (opaqueness) of the product, for the basics of the product (price, quantity, cruelty-free or not, etc) go HERE.
I also won't say anything about the "long-wear"ness of this nail polish, because it really varies to your everyday activity. It can last me for a week, but maybe only lasts you for 3 days and vice versa.

------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm back with another review from the Etude House Dear My Deep Color Nails collection.

Today I'll be showing you the DPK002 Wink Pink (the name is so cute!!)

Wink Pink is a perfect girly girl baby pink with creme finish.

one coat

You do need 2 coats to get them opaque, but the formula is excellent and goes on smoothly.

With one coat, it doesn't really have a nice shine, but with two coats, the shine is gorgeous.

two coats

It also dries quickly.

Overall a great nail polish :3

take care, xoxo

  3. Did swatching marathon for reviews. First time did it and took me more than 2 hours wtf. I have some new found respect for those nail art blogger who do this every so often for us to see the swatch of the nail polish.

[Etude House] Dear My Deep Color Nails - DBR403 Royal Crown (Review & Swatch)

In this post I'm only going to show you swatch, color description, and the quality (opaqueness) of the product, for the basics of the product (price, quantity, cruelty-free or not, etc) go HERE.

------------------------------------------------------------------

Okay, the first one I'm going to show is the DBR403 Royal Crown

It's a beautiful indian red color (I have to google to find the name of the color lol)  with creme finish.

I feel like it really compliments my yellow skin tone too :)

one coat

The formula is great and opaque. As you can see, you can almost get away with just one coat, but if you apply it a little bit thicker than I did (I always start with a thin layer), you can definitely get away with just one coat :)

The formula is on the "liquidy" side, which I always love, because it makes application a breeze :)

two coats

It dries relatively quick and maintain their shine nicely.

Overall, I think it's a good quality nail polish and the price is worth it (I got mine for 28k idr = 2.8 usd) because you get quite a lot of poducts.

That's it, I think. I won't say anything about the "long-wear"ness of this nail polish, because it really varies to your everyday activity. It can last me for a week, but maybe only lasts you for 3 days and vice versa.

take care, xoxo

Etude House - Dear My Deep Color Nails (Review)

To start of, I just wanna tell you that there won't be any swatches in this post, just the basics that applicable to all the nail polishes in this collection that I want to cover (price, color range, the basics of the products, etc). The swatches and individual review that vary from each nail polishes (opaqueness, color description, etc) will be in the next few posts. I just don't want to repeat the points in this post every single time, so I sum it up here :)

The Range of Colors

The Newer Addition
*pictures above from google, atfirstwink.com, and etude house web*

The first collection has more bright and 'POP' color, while the newer ones has a more dusty look.

Overview:
  • 24 colors range
  • 9 ml/bottle
  • Price varies to where you buy it. (I got mine for 28k idr/pc = 2.8 usd/pc)
  • On the matter of cruelty-free : Etude House claimed that they do not test on animal, but their parent company (Amore Pasific) does test on animal for safety reasons. Amore Pasific stated that right now they're progressing in research for alternatives.
  • I couldn't find any information regarding if they're 5 free (doesn't contain toluene, DBP, formaldehyde, resin, and camphor) or not. I did read that they're toxic-free at an online shop, but that's hardly a reliable source.

Now, I just want to say that this is (along with Dear My Neon Pop Nails and Dear My Party Nails), is my most favorite line out of Etude House.

The reason is...

The BRUSH

The brush is just the perfect wide and density

See how it's wider than the common brush size?

said before that I like my brush wide because it makes application much easier. Just one swipe and it covers most of the surface of nails. There are not much going left and right. With my pinky (sometimes ring finger and pointer finger too), it's one swipe covers all.

It's also denser, so it picks up more product, but not too much in the sense that you'll get goopy application. It's just the right amount to cover your nails.

The brush also doesn't streak. You'll see on my swatches next time. It gives a smooth surface to your manicure -of course, the nail polish' formula also plays a huge part here-

Here's the catch though, this brush might not be your favorite if you have super extra small nails, as  I'm guessing it will get the polish to the skin around your nail.

I think I've covered everything I want here. So see you on the individual swatch :)

take care, xoxo

Monthly Montage - March II

Don't know why this one all food pics lol

  1. My new favorite drink. I usually prefer water more than anything, but this one is seriously good! I actually don't like other minute maid pulpy flavor :p
  2. Made home-made burger from scratch. Not bad.
  3. Bibimbap. Meh.
  4. The picture says it all I guess. Looks good, right? :)

  1. Dory fish cutlets and sauteed spinach with garlic.
  2. Tried to made one of those cute hot dog spaghetti. Failed miserably lol. I put too much pasta into the hot dog that the hot dog actually fell apart when I boiled them. Still tasted good though.

Ofuku Kesho Shop Experience

I said on my ranting about lynlynshoppaholic that I've found other online shop, but my orders hadn't come yet, so I can't say much :x

Well, my orders finally came a couple days ago :D

Okay let me give you a background story here.

I've known Ofuku Kesho shop since the end of January and I placed my order on March 15th.

Ofuku Kesho shop provides both ready stock items and pre-order items. This time, I decided to do pre-order, because the items that I wanted were out of stock. (She gives information on the web if the items were out of stock, which I think is great, because we don't have to waste our time asking her ourselves whether the items in stock or not)

First, I asked via BBM how to pre-order and she replied quickly how, so after that I immediately email her my orders. A couple hours after that I already got my order confirmation email. In the email, she also attached the complete list of korean products I can pre-order (I think it's a plus, because it's easier to find what products I want to order the next time, also the list is more complete).

After that I transferred my down payment and confirmed it. I confirmed around 5 or 6 p.m., which was already out of business hour, but she still reply at midnight lolol.

It usually took 3 up to 4 weeks for the order to come. On April 4th, I got an email telling me my items were ready, so mine took a little less than 3 weeks. She emailed me that in the afternoon, I transferred the remaining payment at 3.40 p.m. and I got reply shortly afterward saying the order will be sent that day!! I thought my order will be sent the next day cause it was already evening o.O I was so impressed by the customer service!!

Anyway, my order came in on April 6th...

Only took 2 days to come :D It was a free shipping using JNE REG. You get a free shipping if you order more than 250k idr (if I'm not mistaken, don't quote me on this).

And this is what surprised me the most..

JENG JENG JENG *drumroll please*

I GOT 5 SAMPLES OF PRODUCTS!!!

I didn't even know I'm gonna get free samples when I ordered.

I only read about the samples on her blog a couple days before my order came and I thought not all orders will get one, so what are the chances I actually got 5?! I was so excited I actually squealed when I saw the samples lol.

I know, I know, they're only samples, but I'm a female. And as a force of nature, I'm supposed to be eager toward free and discounted stuffs, right? ;)

Yup, I used the wrapping as background lol

Of course, the items, which I already blogged about yesterday :D

Anyway, those weren't all the items I ordered, the others were out of stock from where she ordered (I don't know where. Korea, I think?), so I BBMed her asking if I was to pre-order again, is there a chance that the items will be available by that time. Please note here that I sent the BBM on a Saturday at 6 p.m. (Business hour is Mon-Fri 09.00-16.00), so I expected the reply will be on Monday, right? But she actually replied a couple minutes after that.

In summary, they have wide-range of products, the price is also very good (among the cheapest ones I've seen), and the customer service is very nice and polite, definitely great. I highly recommend them :D

----------------------------

Okayy, I just have an "OH WOW" moment here!! I was just about to write that I actually have placed my second order this evening around 4.30 p.m. and I thought I'm gonna get reply tomorrow of course 'coz it's not business hour anymore, but I actually just got my order confirmation a minute ago!! So good right the timing?!

I really have nothing but praise here. I know it seems like an advertorial here, but this is 100% my honest opinion and someone actually asked me what is the name of the online shop that I talked about, so here you go :D.

To be fair, I actually tried to order in the end of January and she didn't reply, but I think it was just a mix-up or the email didn't get sent to her (cause there was no automatic response. There are usually automatic response once your email is received) or some sort of like that.

Go ahead and check for yourself. Their website is on maintenance though at the moment. I think they just changed domain or something else and there are only a few items that already uploaded. Maybe you can email and ask for the list of the items? :)

Okay, now I'm done sharing my experience on Ofuku Kesho :D

--edit on 27th of October 2013--

P.S. The reason why I kept pointing out that they still reply even though it's not business hours anymore is because I was really happy that I got reply after I ordered from LynLynshoppaholic where they barely reply to me at all. I really appreciated that Keshoshop took the effort to reply even though it's not their work time, that's all.

I think now they reply almost on work hours only which is totally their privilege. I just don't want you guys to expect them to reply when it's actually their time to relax because of my experience here haha. Anyway, still loving their customer service. Their website is up and running now. Just go to keshoshop.com. There are not tons of ready-stock items, but I do prefer pre-order since I will have an entire choice of products from whatever brand they do PO on (email them to get the full list of USA & Korean products you can pre-order). Also, recently they increased some of their prices (my favorite etude house dear my deep color nail went from 28k to 35k T.T, the laneige water sleeping pack really took a hike from 260k to 312k o.O).

Velvet Nails 101 (How to & FAQ)

Hi loves!!

It’s the first time you see me lol. I have to film my part because for the FAQ  part, there were not much video, and mostly just me talking.  It took me a while to sum up the courage to finally film the “me” part. So, please don’t leave any cruel comment, okay? :)

I’m so glad I finally finished editing this video. This one definitely took the longest to edit.

Anyway, about the velvet nails. Like I said in the video, I was really surprised by it! It was REALLY unique. I kept touching my nails all the time. It’s soft and furry, kinda like petting your stuffed animals lol.

I hope this Velvet Nails 101 can get to a good start if you want to go ahead and try the velvet manicure trend.

It’s similar (the same, I think) to ciaté velvet kit, except the ciaté velvet kit was on the higher end price and I’m just not fancy enough to spend my money on them lol.  In this video, you can do it yourself just by buying the flocking powder/velvet powder and use your own nail polish which can save you some money :)

Hmm, I want to rant a little here hehe

*I think the velvet nails trend was started by ciaté (feel free to correct me if I’m wrong here) with their velvet nails kit. Personally, I’m not very fond with the brand because they claim almost everything as their innovation (again, feel free to correct me if I’m wrong here). The latest one I know they claim is the foil nails they called colourfoil nails kit or something like that. They call it their newest nail innovation. Oh, please, the foil nails has been around for a really long time. I even have a stack of foil I haven’t used since I bought them LAST year.*

Okay, I’m done ranting.

----------------------------------------------

Now, I'll talk a little bit about bornprettystore (in my opinion).

Mainly, they sell nail art supply, but they also have some other stuffs too (accessories & jewelry, apparel, make up, toys, etc).

And  yes, their collection of nail art supply is very wide, but what I love the most about them is that they do free shipping WORLDWIDE. That's like a huge plus on my notes. I can't tell just how many times I want to order something online (from international online shop), but have to cancel because the shipping cost more than what I actually bought, or the shipping is really expensive. (Some of them also offer free shipping, but it's usually US only). Other than that, they do shipping within 24 hours.

Now, with all the perks of free shipping and shipping within 24 hours, I have to say Bornprettystore.com doesn't have the cheapest price. They are not expensive per se, but I've seen a cheaper price for the (some) items -albeit, the difference is not big-. But, I see it this way, even though I spent money a little bit more on the items, I don't have to pay shipping and I end up spent less than the one that I do have to pay shipping.

I guess that's it for my opinion about Bornprettystore :) I hope it helps you decide whether you want to purchase from them or not.

FTC Disclaimer: The velvet powder/flocking powder were sent to me by Bornprettystore.com for a review. I am not paid or compensated whatsoever to do this video/review, I use it because I like it :) All opinions are my own.

Lynlynshopaholic Experience (Updated)

*Updated below, originally posted on January 28th*

I know I haven't been posting lately, but I've been swamped with assignments and upcoming final exams *sigh*

Anyhoo, I just want to make a quick post on how disappointed I am with lynlynshopaholic customer service.

I've ordered from them before once and had no problem although I'm not impressed with their cs either. They just didn't give out friendly vibe at all. It was through a text nevertheless (You know, like how you can tell how someone is nice or sort from the way they text?), so I didn't think too much of it.

A couple days ago, I was browsing through their website and they have kleancolor sets which caught my eyes immediately.

Since I haven't spend my monthly allowance this month, I decided to buy 9 sets + 1 for a gift. I was sooo excited for it and placed my order.

I texted the customer service asked whether they're available or not (I assumed they were, because they're still on the website), it took about an hour to get a reply (which is not so slow either), but apparently they only had 1 set readystock (why they didn't remove the items from their web or at least write that the items are not readystock).

I didn't really blame them on this because maybe they don't have the time to update or I don't know for whatever the hell reasons there are.

I thought that if the items are still on the web, I could at least pre-order, right? because if the items were still there, meaning they're still selling them, albeit not readystock.

So, I texted back asking whether I can buy the other sets via pre-order or something. And their reply was just that pre-order is not available *screaming in silent "THEN WHY THE HELL THE ITEMS STILL ON THE WEBSITE???!!!WTFHHKP!*!@" *

I was disappointed, but not particularly on lynlynshopaholic, 'cos I'm sure they have their own reasons and such, but more because I can't buy the kleancolor sets which I've read some really good reviews about (I've searched more on local online store but to no avail).

Since the kleancolor sets are not available, I wanted to buy the NYX Living in a Dream set instead as my second choice, so I texted back asking whether the NYX Living in a Dream set is available or not.

AND

They didn't reply.

AT.

ALL.

WTF.

I waited all day and have no reply at all.

This may not seem like a big deal to some of you, but it is to me. It's as if they don't care and just decided to ignore my text -___-"

I was just downright disappointed and chose to purchase the set from another shop even though it's a little bit more expensive.

Will I buy from them again? Probably yes *updated, NO*, but I just want to express my disappointment on the customer service. That's all. Other than that, I actually like the shop. The price is not bad, the items arrive quickly, and there are wide-range of items.

Okay then, I'm done ranting and going to sleep for now.

Bye, xoxo

-----------------------UPDATE-------------------------

Okay, I thought I've done ranting, but apparently, I'm not. I placed another order on March 4th. *This one went way worse than before, thus the longer rant*

This time, I was tempted to order the Etude House Sweet Recipe Ice Cream Nails Set and some other little stuffs. I contacted them through BBM first. I have two of their BBM contacts and tried them both. This time, to my surprise, they were actually very nice with the response.

The first one said they were out of stock, but then the second one reply that they were availble. I guess I was trying my chance and go with the second reply and transferred the money on the same day I ordered.

Since I was just trying my chance, I wasn't surprised or disappointed the next day (March 5th) when they said the items were out of stock. (On the side note, I think I misunderstood the second reply and the CS had a mixed up with other order or something like that, so that was my fault actually)

Anyway, other little items on my order are ready stock, so they asked if I want to continue the order or a refund. Since my main order wasn't available, I chose refund.

This is where I got disappointed all over again.

On that same day, I already gave them my bank account number data for the refund.

The next day (March 6th), I asked them how's the refund via BBM.

Guess what?

It wasn't just there were no reply, they didn't even read the BBM wtf (the symbol still 'D' until now). I think it's either they "end chat" me without reading my BBM (which would be incredibly rude) or bad signal/error on BMM causing the 'D' didn't turn into 'R' when they read it.

Let's give it benefit of the doubt here and assume it was an error on BBM (which has occured from time to time), and even then, they still didn't reply to me about my refund wtf.

I was so pissed then and just didn't bother to contact them anymore. They'll refund when they refund.

And I actually forgot about this whole refund thing for couple of days afterward until they sent me a text on March 9th, saying a lot of the items on my order were out of stock and asking (again) whether I want a refund or not. I said refund. Again, they asked for my bank account number, so I gave them. After that, there were no more reply.

On March 13th, I texted again asking about the refund, but there weren't any reply from them wtf. (this happens too often that I'm not even going to act surprise to the fact that they didn't reply)

Then, on March 16th, they sent me another text.

The text was to ask me whether I have transferred the money for my purchase.

There I was, waiting for my long overdue refund, and you texted me asking whether I have transferred the money or not???!!!

SERIOUSLY???Are you freaking kidding me???

I know that your online shop is not run only by 1 person and I might talked about the refund to other owner/partner, but this is just far from professional, or a good customer service in that matter.

I am actually quite a polite person (not trying to self-praise here lol), so I wasn't going to go all gangster on them. I texted back saying I haven't got my refund yet (with smiley face too! How was not nice enough you tell me)

Anyway, they asked to whom I confirmed my payment, so I gave the BBM pin I contacted, then they asked my BBM's name. I answered (I was using my bf's BBM when I ordered). Then, there were no more reply wtf.

At least tell me did you find the refund data or tell me when you've already transferred the refund. Is it that hard?

Because there's no news from them, I texted on March 26th asking about the refund. They replied that they'll check on that.

And that's it.

No more reply after they said they'll check on the matter.

Little did I know, they actually already transferred the refund on March 18th -still, it took 2 days to refund wtf (from the text asking whether I have transferred)-

How did I know they've already transferred the refund? I actually went ahead and checked the mutations on my bank account. Not from them, I have to find out myself. @#$@$#@!#%$!!!

I'm buying from you, you're the one running the business, why do I have to go all the trouble for God sakes? I though shopping supposed to be a stress relief, it seems the other way around now.

Is it really that hard to just reply a text or just give me some information about my purchase?

I get it you've got tons of other customers to take care of and it can get exhausting. But it's YOUR business, and by opening a business, YOU agreed to take the responsibility that comes with it, like cater to your customer's questions and doesn't ignore them for example. It's one thing to take a long time to reply (which I will understand), but it's a whole other thing to not reply altogether.

I know some of you might think I make a big deal out of nothing, but I've done a lots of online shopping before, and by far, this is the worst one. It took 12 freaking days to refund with back and forth same text. It just doesn't worth the agony. If they were an International online shop I might be okay with 12 days for refund. But they weren't. They were local Indonesian online shop. It just doesn't make sense that it took almost 2 weeks for refund.

Will I buy from them again after this? Definitely NO. I don't want to go through all the trouble again.

And I've found other online shop. I haven't received my orders yet, so I can't say anything about the online shop, but so far so good :)

Okay, I'm done ranting now.
